NIIMBL
(The National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmaceuticals) is one of 14 Manufacturing USA institutes. It is sponsored by NIST (up to $70m for 5 years) but is co-sponsored by industry and states (~ $140m envisioned).
A Technical Needs Survey of industry, government agencies, and academia revealed interest in the following categories:
- Process development/intensification/platform development
- Analytical methods/process control
- Host cell line development
- Reference standards/regulatory science
- Supply chain management/IT solutions
